I’m going to the Navy!

Dear Dr. Azman and Staff,

I would like to thank you for treating me so well during my examination and that I felt very comfortable to know that I was in the care of such professional and personal kindness. I’ve learned so much about my eyes and how to take care of them to ensure the health of my eyes is maintained at the highest level. Before I found Dr. Azman and Azman Eyecare, I was completely devastated that my dreams were about to fall apart due to a color deficiency that disqualified me from a Navy Scholarship I’ve worked so hard for. The only test I couldn’t study for had me frantically trying to find a way to pass the Ishihara Color Plate test. Of course there were no ways to do so, until I stumbled upon a website that said it was possible to pass using innovative color filters. Immediately I contacted Dr. Azman and suddenly my dreams were restored of going to college without financial struggles and getting back on path to commissioning into the US Navy as an officer. Since receiving treatment, I have received a medical waiver and college -bound knowing that whatever medical exams I’m given, color deficiency won’t be an issue. From my experience in Baltimore to walking out the doors of the facility, I was filled with excitement and joy. Once again I would like to thank Dr. Azman and his wonderful staff and that I am on track to pursue my dream of becoming a Naval Medical Officer at the University of Southern California and the knowledge I’ve learned will help me see the world in a positive view and just like the Azman faculty, I will try my best to help those around me to the best of my ability.

Color blindness and the job of my dreams!

I would again like to express my gratitude to everyone at Azman Eye Care Specialists.

Everyone in the office made me feel right at home from the time I arrived till the time I left the office. First impressions always say a lot about a business and the people who work there. My first impression was the professionalism of the staff and Dr. Azman. It was truly a pleasure to have met Dr. Azman and his staff after our phone conversations. I feel the examination and evaluation I received was far more advanced than any I had previously received anywhere before. It was quite amazing to see colors in a whole new perspective, considering you have seen colors the way you think everyone else is seeing them and then you find out you’re not.

A few years have passed since I first contacted Dr. Azman, and how time passes so quickly. My present position at JK Spruce power plant is Auxiliary Operator 3. I am presently training for Turbine Tender which I will test for in May or June. My next step after two years as a Turbine Tender will be Control Room Operator where I will top out in my field. Thanks to Azman Eye Care Specialists I am becoming very successful in my job and financially successful. If my wife and I would have never searched out there for Dr. Azman’s help, my family and job security would have been in jeopardy.

It was a few months ago when the Plant Operations Chief had the control room page me on my radio. When I talked to my control room operator he told me John wanted to talk to me about my eye condition. I was thinking these guys are never going to give this thing a rest. So I go to his office and he asks me to have a seat. He tells me he has a friend who always wanted to get his pilot’s license but because of his color blindness he would not be able to. I gave him Azman Eye Care’s number and told him all the different professions Dr. Azman has helped people in.

Laser Vision Correction, The Right Way

When I first visited Azman Eye Care about 12 years ago, I had had a very bad experience wearing contact lenses. Dr Azman immediately put me at ease, tailored his exam to my needs, asked all the right questions, and together we succeeded in fitting me with lenses and eyeglasses.

When it came time to explore laser vision correction, I took Dr Azman’s suggestion, did some research, and visited a few surgeons on my own. When I returned and told Dr Azman that I was confused by the various options that I had heard, Dr Azman did further research and came up with a few good options. We put our heads together and decided what was best for me, not necessarily what was best for you or your practice. I’ve been very happy with the results. After all, what could be better than 20/20?

I’ve already referred friends and family to you, and will continue to do so. Keep up the great work!

I was simply told by my previous optometrist that I “am not a candidate” for contact lenses.

I am currently a patient of Dr. Irwin Azman. I underwent cataract surgery of my right eve in January 2003 and now have an astigmatism problem in that eye. In addition. I have a cataract in my left eye and also have the normal reading vision problems that comes with age. I was simply told by my previous optometrist that I “am not a candidate” for contact lenses. That was that. Nothing else was said. So I continued with glasses. Since going to Dr. Irwin Azman, he and his staff have spent an enormous amount of time doing tests and fitting me for contact lenses. Even though I get frustrated. Dr. Irwin Azman persists in trying to keep “tweaking” the prescription to make my vision as good as possible. I now can see better with my contacts than with my glasses!! Dr. Irwin Azman has taken a lot of time and effort in order for me to be able to wear contact lenses and I would not hesitate referring anyone wanting the same.

Contact lenses: I was told “that’s as good as it gets”.

It is with great pleasure that I testify to the wonderful treatment I have received at the Azman Eye Care Clinic. Prior to becoming a patient here, my past experiences were unsatisfactory — as despite my complaints to one doctor about not seeing clearly with the contacts he prescribed, I was told “that’s as good as it gets”. Had I continued in his “care”, I would have required corneal transplants. The last doctor I saw prior to the Dr Irwin Azman , in addition to not noticing my corneas were again very dry, was prescribing lenses for me that were not even being manufactured. At the Azman Clinic I feel like I’m the only patient there. The care and patience extended to me make me feel quite certain I’m in “good hands” with professionals who sincerely care about fitting me with proper lenses and a treatment schedule to keep my corneas from ever approaching the poor state they were in when I first arrived for treatment. I won’t hesitate to recommend the Azman Center to anyone!

“You get what you pay for.”

First, I have been wearing contact lenses since I was 20, twenty years. They were quite new then, and I have to say not very comfortable. I experienced a great deal of discomfort and could not keep a pair for long due to protein deposits. It got to the point that I only wore my contact lenses on special occasions. I could not possibly wear them daily. Dr Irwin Azman never gave up though, as new lenses hit the market, they hit my eyes!! We finally found lenses that were not only comfortable, but also affordable. I grant you that technology had a good bit to do with acquiring lenses that were compatible with my eyes, however, if Dr Irwin Azman were not a leader in the contact lens market, you would not have been able to continue recommending lenses until I was comfortable! This is what I have discovered about other eye care facilities that “claim” to specialize in contact lenses. I hear the same complaint over and over from individuals wearing contacts. Burning eyes, red eyes, uncomfortable eyes, itching eyes, blurry vision. The list goes on. I know when I refer Azman Eye Care to a friend or acquaintance, these problems will be resolved. Many times people do not take my recommendation, they refuse to believe any one can help them. I know Azman Eye Care does not just sell contact lenses, the patient must come in for follow up visits. This is a very important part of the lens compatibility. It is the only way of detecting a problem before it turns into a serious issue. Azman Eye Care includes all of this in their sale of the contact lens and the yearly maintenance; therefore, the patient is encouraged to take care of their eyes. I believe this is what is so different about Azman Eye Care and other contact lens facilities. They want to sell lenses for as cheap as possible, their is no regard for the patient and their eyes, only the sale of the product. Since follow up eye care is not included in the price, their is no incentive for the patient to return. This leads to poor eye care, all the problems I previously mentioned. You know what they say, “You get what you pay for.”

Orthokeratology:I was told I could not wear lenses by 3 other eye doctors

Precision Accelerated Orthokeratology :
I was told I could not wear contact lenses by 3 other eye doctors due to my dry eyes. You did concur that I had dry eyes, but you introduced me to Orthokeratology. You explained your Precision Accelerated technique to me. Even though I was a little skeptical about it ,because I never heard of it, I decided to trust you. I also looked into lasik and was told I could have it. After researching lasik and dry eyes I learned that if you have dry eyes you should not have lasik surgery. It has now been 2 years since going through your procedure and I am still experiencing comfortable, clear vision all waking hours. Thank you Dr. Azman for guiding and educating me and protecting my eyes from having Lasik which could of been a disaster. You have changed my life.

Dry Eye Condition: Since when does a doctor spend time with his patient?

I was most impressed with the level of personal care and concern that I found at your practice. My dry eye condition was not apparent to me at the time I first visited your office. Dr Thomas Azman was willing to investigate my complaints about my vision and as a result I was able to return to 20/20 vision with lenses. This was very important to me as a pilot. Dr Thomas Azman took my case more seriously and spent more time with me than I have ever experienced with any other eye doctor. Your efforts at follow up were very reassuring.

I had worn contact lenses prior to coming to Dr Thomas Azman. It was a disaster.

I want to express my appreciation for helping me. I came to Azman Eye Care with a problem that I could not identify. However, I did recognize that my eyes were chronically tired and red, and I had to where my glasses all of the time. Today, I am experiencing a high level of comfort and I feel as if my eyesight has improved. When I arrived for my first appointment, Joanne met with me to acquaint me with your practice and to administer preliminary tests. She was very informative and – reassuring. Next, I met with Dr Thomas Azman and again I was reassured that it would be possible to correct the difficulties I was experiencing. Dr Thomas Azman carefully and clearly explained the results of the preliminary evaluation. I had worn contact lenses prior to coming to Dr Thomas Azman. It was a disaster. I was prescribed a more generic lens and along with the dry eye problem, the lenses were never really correct. I was not able to read with the lenses and my distance vision was poor as well. Eventually I gave up, as these lenses were apparently the only option available to me. My experience at the Azman Dry Eye center was completely different. Dr. Azman devised a plan of attack. Which eventually led to success with contact lenses. Other eye centers did not address any specific problems; they only evaluated my eyesight and wrote prescriptions for glasses or generic contact lenses. I also want to say that the level of caring that is shown to patients from the front desk to the doctor himself, is above any I have experienced elsewhere. It is a pleasure to come to the office. I will continue to recommend the practice and Dr. Azman to my friends and family.

True Family Eye Care!

Recently, my daughter and I went to Dr. Thomas Azman for our eye exams. I was so impressed by the eye care we received. I thought we were there only to have a routine eye exam. Dr. Thomas Azman spent quite a bit of time with the both us. He performed a number of tests and over the next several months treated us for dry eyes. I could not believe the difference in the way my eyes felt. My daughter had been experiencing headaches, which have disappeared since the treatments. I have gone regularly for eye exams and only received the routine eye exam and the glaucoma test, but Dr. Azman was so thorough and explained each test and the purpose of the test. It also explained to us that his practice was about the wellness of the eye. I have since referred my husband to Dr. Thomas Azman. He has been going for treatments for approximately 3 months. His eyes were constantly red and he always complained that his eyes hurt. Since being treated by Dr. Thomas Azman, his eyes have improved greatly. You can actually see the whites of his eyes! I am very thankful for the time Dr. Azman has spent with my daughter, my husband and myself. He is very professional and also has a very pleasant personality. I will return to Dr. Thomas Azman for all my future eye exams and also recommend him to friends and family members.
